How to measure for a cricket bat
1 height measurement gives you a starting bat size. Measure without shoes, then check the maker's chart and the player's control.

Enter the player's height to see a starting size.
Stand against a wall
Use a level floor. Remove shoes and bulky headwear. Stand upright and look ahead, with the heels against the wall where comfortable.
Mark the height
Rest a flat book gently on the top of the head, keeping it level against the wall. Have another person mark the point. Measure from the floor to the mark in centimetres.
Check the chart
Use the calculator or size chart. If you fall close to a boundary, note both sizes. Check the specific maker's chart, especially around Harrow and adult sizes.
Try the bat
Use normal batting gloves and stance. Compare controlled swings with a familiar bat. Do not turn a comfortable height measurement into an automatic decision about weight.
